A 1-layer, shell boot in a modern design. It is a stable boot made from full-grain or nubuck leather. Vandra has a padded top collar and is developed according to the shell principle. It offers a protective and high shell layer that is easily adaptable to the activity and temperature. A 1-layer boot is lighter and more flexible, breathes better, and can be more easily repaired compared to a 3-layer boot.

Unlike certain other splendid products, Lundhags boots don’t win in being repaired, they are to be used. If you take care of your boots properly, they can last for decades.

Unlike certain other great products, Lundhags boots don’t win in being repaired, they are to be used. If you take care of your boots properly, they can last for decades.

Properly proof the boots the first three or four times you use them. After a while, you will see where you need to proof the boots to get maximum protection against wet conditions.

Use the boots as often and as much as possible, preferably at least twice per month. They will then retain their shape to your feet.

Always use two pairs of wool socks, one thinner closest to the foot (a liner) and one heavier depending on the temperature.

Clean the boots with mild water and a scrubbing brush. This works even on the inside to wash out salt and dirt from the leather.

Avoid drying the boots in a drying cupboard. They withstand drying of max 40°.

Remove the insoles and place them in the shaft after each use.

Ensure that your boots are well impregnated if you plan to not use for a while. The cellular rubber, however, should not be proofed. Lundhags Leather Grease is a perfect companion to your polished boots. For boots in nubuck, you will want to use Leather Wax from Toko, which retains the polished, suede-like surface, for the best protection against water. But you then lose the special appearance of nubuck and the nubuck can darken somewhat.

Store the boots in a cool place between hikes.

Do the shafts of the boots feel too hard? By leaving the last three pairs of holes in the shaft unlaced, you will soften up the shaft naturally during first hikes.

Choosing the right size is decisive for how you will feel in your new Lundhags boots.

The easiest way to quickly find the right size is put on a thin sock and measure your feet from heel to toe, then add 20 mm and compare with the sizes in the table below.

Choose the right last

We work with several different lasts for our collection of boots. They differ slightly and it is therefore important to know which last is made for the boot you choose.

Opti Ws-last

This last has the same shape as the Opti-last, but has been modified throughout the years to best fit women and smaller sizes. Somewhat narrower and higher over the ankle.

This last is slightly wider and has a lower ankle measurement to prevent the foot from sliding forward. The toe box is developed from earlier versions to offer more space for your toes.

This last is a further development of our previous Normal last, where the volume has increased and the big toe box has become straighter to provide extra space. It fits feet with high ankle measurements, which many of us have.

30 years I wore Meindl. The best boots ever. I thought. A friend told me about these very unique scandinavian boots from Lundhags. I was very sceptic. But fortunately I bought a pair of Lundhags Vandra High. The best decision I ever made in the last 30 years. I got the boots from my local dealer and walked home without any problem. 70 kilometers. I used these boots at work ( landscape gardening, climbing tree surgery, construction,... ), for everyday use and for hiking of course. I never had problems with these boots. The past 3 months I was in England and Wales, where it is wet. And we had lots of snow ( 2017 the first time after about 28 years ). I was in a bushcraft camp. Very often it was not possible to take off the boots for days. No problems with these boots. Walking in wet and muddy conditions, temperatures of minus 15 degrees, even sleeping with the boots on - no problem. The best boots/shoes I ever had. And they are still in perfect condition. Now I am looking for a 2nd and 3rd pair of shoes. And for me it´s very clear that it will be Lundhags. Thank you very much!

Pros: Lightweight. Waterproof. Great Support. Durable. Well Made, Great Grip.
Cons: Took Some Serious wearing to break in.

I purchased these early winter 2017 to replace my GTX insulated hunting boots. GTX is great as a shell for jackets and pants but not the best in an insulated boot. I have owned several pairs over the years and find they eventually seep water / retain sweat and will not dry overnight for back to back wear. These Lundhags single Layer boots are great. They dry quickly, and I found them to be just as or more waterproof than my GTX boots.

My only complaint is that they do take a while to break in. I wore them daily during the winter for short walks and then put them away for the summer. When Hunting Season came around I found myself with some bruising due to the stiff shaft. Not to Blame the Boot as I was covering > 10km / day in mountainous rocky terrain carrying a heavy pack. After alternating boots daily with my old GTX boots and following the Lundhags break in instructions. (do not lace all the way to the top) These boots now fit great and are superior for hiking in rocky terrain. They were warm to -20c with the right socks.

Great Boot. looking forward to many years of use.

Why lundhags boots are the best. First no wet feet ,gore tex instead? Second, warm and dry ,comfortable feet after 10 hours wearing.(i use them each day at work,9 hours + 1 hour and a half or 2 walking my hunting dogs in wet conditions.thirth reason, rubber boots give no good support on your feet. so i wear them at least 60 hours a week( weekend in winter is hunting time)
