Shell garments

WHAT IS A SHELL GARMENT?

A shell garment is a waterproof and windproof outer garment without a liner. It will protect you in all types of weather while also releasing moisture when you are hot and sweaty.

When should I use a shell garment?

A shell garment is easy to carry in your bag when the weather is uncertain, or if you are out on longer trips. Depending on the temperature, you can customize what you are wearing under your shell. See base layers, mid layers and insulation for suggestions.
